Staff Spotlight: April Hartman Wolford

April Hartman Wolford

Assistant Director, Financial Aid and Scholarships

April has worked in the financial aid field for the past seven years, three of them at The University of Tennessee. She grew up in East Tennessee, loving the Vols, and earned her bachelor’s degree from UTK. Her goal was to return to the University in some capacity. In 2016 she got that opportunity and began working in the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships as a financial aid counselor, helping undergraduate and graduate students navigate the (sometimes winding) path of financial aid. After three years of hard work reviewing appeals, processing documentation, and meeting with students and families, she was promoted to Assistant Director. In her new role, she oversees the financial aid counselors and the Federal Work Study program to ensure the next generation of Volunteers receives the help and support needed to be successful.

April is excited and energized to serve the University and its students and she looks forward to doing that for many years to come.
